The Lake & Sumter Counties Chapter of MOAA actively participates in awarding scholarships in support of the Army, Navy and Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) units at six area High Schools.  These six school are more fully described in the JROTC page under the Chapter-Programs section.

Annually the chapter awards a $2,000 and $1,500 scholarship to the top two graduating senior cadets from each of the six high schools who will attend a junior college, college, university, or technical school of higher learning.  These cadets will have shown outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, and community service.
