American Legion Post 347 was started on Dec 9, 1987 at Lady Lake, Florida.  The current Post building was dedicated on July 4th, 1997. Due to the growing membership, the Post building was expanded in 2003.  In 2009-2010 the Post was again expanded to its current size. 
From its inception, the Post has reached a new all time high in membership each year for 33 years!  On June 30, 2015, membership stood at 5,619, making Post 347, "The Largest Post in the World!" The current members continues to grow and is over 7,000 Legion members as of April 2021.
In addition to the Legion members, the Post is also home to American Legion Auxiliary Unit #347 with over 2,000 members, Sons of The American Legion Squadron #347 with over 750 members, and American Legion Riders Chapter #347 with close to 100 members (Riders members are also members of one of the other Post family groups).

Regular scheduled meeting are at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.

We meet at the Hibiscus Recreation Center, 1740 Bailey Trail in The Villages, FL, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month except July and August.  The meeting room opens at 5:30 PM for social time.  Dinner is served at 6 PM followed by a business meeting at 6:45 PM.  Entertainment starts at 7:15 PM and ends at 8 PM.  All Shriners and their Ladies are welcome!
